Reconciliation Is Not Controversial

People seem to be convinced that it is. Including people who should know better:

One possibility is that Republicans make a poor showing at the summit, emboldening Democrats to strong-arm their sweeping health legislation through Congress with no GOP votes, which would require the use of controversial rules in the Senate.

Reconciliation is just a matter of reclaiming the original function of the Senate. It’s about as controversial as the Constitution itself. Winning a vote by a majority isn’t strong-arming anything.
