On 4% Inflation
So I've advocated for this before. The rationale is simple - the higher inflation is to begin with, the more room you have in a downswing. Also, when your economy is already in recession and desperately in need of cash, promising inflation is essentially a promise of money: it's really "reflation". That's definitely better than the alternative, which is no inflation and no money.
Anyway, now serious people agree.

Inflation is Good, For Now
Hot Air worries that "instead of real growth, we have inflation." This in response to news that core inflation rose by 0.2%. I wonder if they have any idea how reassuring a signal inflation really is, since earlier this year deflation (and corresponding statistics) was a viable fear?
